Inside driver door handle broke
I was opening my door when what ever holds the handle broke. So the handle is now loose in the door. But i can open the door with the outside button. So before i take off the door panel does anyone know what is wrong or how much to fix?

handle is bolted to the metal inside the door, if that ripped your gonna have to bend it back and weld it or devise a way to make a plate and bolt it down, another member had that happen and he just welded it back together, he made a write up too, good luck, should be in the interior section

this happened to mine I cut another piece of metal and put it behind the door metal where the piece use to be and when you get it bolted in it will stay in place. Mine has worked for 5 years now.

Same exact problem. If you can't weld I'll bet a shop would do it for about 50 bucks or less for ya. Then go to the junk yard and get metal handles out of an 80's truck, so you don't break the handle off! Good luck.

I had the same problem on my dad's truck, just took a piece of sheet metal and riveted it to the door, knock on wood, hasn't broken yet.

I've had both the plastic handle break in which case go get a metal handle from a pre 92 ford or if the metal it's mounted to broke get it welded. Shop charged me $3 for it

This happened to all the landscaping work trucks we had. going in and out of the truck because of our mow routs or cleanup we were doing caused 'em to break often. my boss was too cheap to replace 'em so we had to roll down the window every time to get out of the truck. When this happened in my truck i fixed it that day. i was at the parts store buying something and out of curiosity i asked if hey sold 'em. sure enough they did, had a few on hand too, was cheap under 10 bucks. i've replaced 3 so far and they all have been just the plastic handle, really easy to fix. just take off the panel and loosen the bolt, there is a dummy tab on the handle so you can't put it in wrong.
