Hey guys my name is Kyle and I have a question for you all. I am looking at buying my first Powerstroke and I was wondering if you all think this 96 F-350 would be a good buy. I'm new to diesels and just want some input. Thanks in advance!

very hard to tell with his discription since motor was changed for 99+ big question is what year motor, and was the obs top end put on the superduty motor, is it intercooled, what injectors are in it, what turbo is it? to many questions, to high of a price to ask and not know squat about it, he only knows his exterior mods and what someone else said about it, i wouldnt pay more than 5-6k for something that nobody seems to know anything about. it is a very clean (exterior wise) rig tho, if he can give more information about the motor and what not, pcm, all that stuff then i could see the value at what he is asking. good luck and welcome to the org.

btw his description of the motor (99+) is a crap shoot imho, if its a 99-01 motor it should have the forged internals, if its 02-03 than pmr and all i can say is look for the user named jake and his avatar is what happened to his pmr motor

Thanks for the reply. I just texted him and he said that the engine swap was done by the previous owner before the guy he bought it from. So I think I'm gonna pass on it since he doesn't know much about it.

thats not a bad link, if its a cali model truck (factory 120cc split shots) it will have a blue sticker on the pass side valve cover saying that it passes california emmisions, or compliancy or what not, and when you tune it it wont smoke near as much as all these guys with the common 90cc injectors that are single shot, and its descriptions match mine pretty well so it should have a pcm code mme2 iirc, bad thing is it says a wee bit of rust on fender well, but the price is alot more reasonable and willing to negotiate as well.

just post your findings if you call him up, if it has 120cc splits and its not a cali model nor tuned for the split shots it will run like it needs injectors unless its tuned to run those, and im sure either a chip or someone willing to trade would remedy that situation, just let us know your findings and we are happy to help ya out, good luck

This truck isnt bad except for there is no such thing as minor rust......

sure there is, lmao, i typically deal with rust free only tho, i dont see the point in buying stuff with rust, if i lived where yall live id look for something im willing to travel to
