good starter

looking for a good starter for my 97. I noticed my truck was starting real slow but Im getting my truck back out of the garage tomorrow and the guy working on it mentioned it to me. He said he checked it out and the solenoid on the starter is going and its like the 4th napa starter in 3 yrs Ive had the truck. so im wondering whats another good starter to get.

I have read a lot of good things about the 99-03 starters on the OBS. I think they are a gear reduction starter, so it spins faster.

When I came home from the frozen land of Utah (to the Eastern US) I noticed a very significant thing... my truck wouldn't start!

Turned out to be the starter. I bought one, it was a remanufactured unit from Advanced, and I changed out my batteries while I was at it.

Truck starts like a raped date in the warm weather. During the cold...well, I have injectors and glow plugs to do....

I haven't heard that many good things about DB starters on other forums, just what I have read though.

Yeap the DB starters has bad reputation this days, everybody claims that is because they are made in China now (MIC) Look for one made in USA.
