VIN Number
This is my first post. I found 1996 F-250 VIN # 1FTHX25F2TEA42698. I checked out all the items listed in the Sticky info for PSD. It was amazing how difficult it was to push the clutch in and how soon the clutch grabbed. It sounds like the clutch Low Clutch engagement a worn clutch master cylinder bushing problem. I tried to decode the VIN to see what rear end ratio it has and if it has some form of limited slip. Can you tell this rear end ratio and limited slip from the VIN number? He claims it has a 4.10 rear end.

You can get free Oasis reports if you are a Premium Member here...these reports can get you good info, not sure how much of the factory set up info you can get, but they are good for used trucks....maybe one of the Admins/Mods who run the reports can chime in.....
By the way......... to the ORG!!

but just to add the oasis will only go back 10 years so a 97 would be the cutoff right now

Look on the vin sticker on the door jamb. There will be a two digit code under axel. Post it or PM me and I'll tell you what's in it.

Well I guess I missed this truck. Called up the seller to ask if I could come by and get the axle number had he sold the truck. Guess I will keep looking. Thanks.

craigslist, carsoup, auto trader and Ebay was my routine every day for 6 weeks. almost thought i was going to have to drive 500 miles to buy a truck. finally caught a break and found one 30 miles from my house.
be patient and good luck with your search. |

You bet! I didn't realize that until about a few weeks ago I came across that info somewhere. Alan did check on it and confirmed it.
