Important info regarding EBPV repair kits!
Hey guys I am not sure the best place to post this information to get it out there but I have discovered something that can save everyone a good sum of money if they are repairing there EBPV valve.
When I purchased this truck back in February the previous owner had bought the kit to repair the EBPV. Unfortunately he had bought the 2C3Z9P466AB (or AA designation on the older kit) and I own a 97. I needed the ) 2C3Z-9P466-BA or "BB" designated kit.
I decided to take it apart and either gut and delete, or if the newer style valve would work, use it. I have found that the only discernible difference between the two seems to be the EBPV rod length. This however does not matter as the new style has a longer connector. I just ground down the connector a bit and used a hitch pin clip to secure it.
The result is a proper functioning, non leaking EBPV that you can get for half the price of the OBS style kit! I will attach a picture that draws it out better, and if the mods have a better section for this info feel free to move this thread.
Thanks.
