new to the forum... need some advice!

Hey guys! new to this site... just want to start off by saying from what i have seen on here you guys know your stuff! NOW on to the real matter at hand. I am thinking about purchasing a 1996 RC F-250 powerstroke! i have always loved the 7.3s and since i am partiall to the OBS, well i love em! now my question is the truck has 178,xxx miles on it, has a new remanufactured automatic transmission with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty (3200.00), new fuel pump and high pressure fuel lines, new vaccum pump, new front shocks and alignment and 4 new wild country XTX 285/75/16 tires. now the guy has it listed for $7750.00 and i have him talked down to $7000.00. is this a good deal?

If the body is in good shape I would say that's a good deal at $7000. Insurance value probably around $5000. You wouldn't even get a look from me for mine until you got to $10,000. Even then it would just be a glance.

the body is ion great shape! it is very flawless... it white and there is no chips in the paint or cracks! and your right about the insurance, insurance values it at like $5500.00 so now if i can only get the claims adjuster to hurry up with the money on my truck from it being totaled i will be in good shape!!!

been there done that it took me almost 2 months to get my insurance money haha

Its an on going fight with the insurance company! starting to get old!

i had a 1990 cummins that got railed from the rear and they wanted to give me 1900 for it it, i was like uhhhhh no change that or ill see you in court ended up getting 6100, insurance companys are just ignorant

shew you got that right!!! my accident happened dec. 1st and were still fighting with em... i had a 92 f150 that was very well taken care of. they offered me like 3500 and some change which is not bad and that price is over the NADA value of my truck. so were now fighting that since it wasnt my fault and i didnt ask for a rental car were gonna need a some more $$$. Man its like pulling teeth with the insurance companies! so since im partial to the OBS im gonna upgrade to the 7.3!

yea i managed to drive my truck back to my house so i told the guy look, i didnt get a rental, no storage fees, the motor alone is worth 2 grand, go find me this truck in this condition for 1900 and ill be more then happy to take it. the truck had like 32x,xxx on it but the odometer only read 108,xxx so that was a nice break too haha

NICE!!!! mine was definatly undriveable! it pushed my whole front end to the back of my wheel wells, close to the front of my driver and passenger doors. i also high centered a guard rail where my truck rested... mine if im not mistaked just crossed over 183xxx. all i have to say about the wreck is they thought my truck looked bad! should have seen the 08 ford fusion that i hit! (you know you hit a car hard when you knock the hood off of it and it slides 100 feet down the road!)
