question about instailling new engine block heater

hey guys just picked up new engine block heater, the directions that came with it say to drain the coolant? has anyone done this job, and do you really need to drain the collant? i just replaced all the coolant so i really dont wanna do that? lol

Well that or swap it out really really fast. I'd just drain it that way it can be reused instead of spilling all over you and the ground and being wasted.
