A letter from FORD

I just recieved in the mail today a recall notice on my 1996 F350 CCLB 4X4.
Its stats that my truck has not yet had the " speed control system modification "

Anybody know anything about that?

They change out the brake light switch. As I understand it , the switch controls the brake lights and the cruse control.

It does, so does that mean the cruise won't cut off when a light is out or when I tap the brakes now?

Mine seems to be working just fine, is some thing that I should have done?

It's probably the recall on that switch on the front of the master cylinder, the secondary one that interrupts the cruise.

Cruise control is _supposed_ to cut off when you tap the brake pedal. And no, this has no effect on how the cruise cuts out when a bulb is burned out and you hit the turn signal. That's inherent in how the truck is wired.

That's recall 09S09. I just had mine done yesterday morning on my 1995 F250 PSD that I recently bought. Took the shop about 15 minutes from the time they drove into the shop until they brought it back to me. I might get some pictures of it, if anyone wants to see the new wiring harness.

There was JUST a thread about this and I posted a pic showing the little fuse in a wiring harness that they add. Go do it now.
