Garrett turbos

I got my truck from a guy who said it has a bigger turbo than stock. At the moment it has a 4inch dp to a 5 inch stack. A nappa 6637 air filter, boost gauge, egt probe is being hooked up soon as I find the time. Now with a bigger turbo at WOT shouldn't I make more than 11 psi at near 3k rpm? The turbo sure doesn't look factory. And from my research it looks to be a gt 38? im worried about the internals of it, it spools yet under load it smells like burning oil. Amd the soot in the stack could lube a fith wheel plate. Unlike other soot covered stacks I've handled. It blows no smoke, minus a occasional puff of blue. What's wrong with the old girl? It's only got 125,000 on it

First you need to figure out what size turbo, is it intercooled aswell, and 11 psi isn't terrible with no tune, seems it turbo is burning oil too

you need to get a good look at the turbo. find out what it is first. it sounds like its leaking oil somewhere. are there tunes on the truck? if so, 11psi is way low. i can hit over 35. (with stage 1's)

How do I got about seeing witch turbo it really is? I'll try to link some pictures of it. The oil looks like its leaking down the turbo pedestal, everything it covered in greasy crap. And thats got a little golden color to it.
