Hard starts after BHAF Mod?

Got around to yanking my stock air intake out this morning and made the change over to the BHAF. I ended up going with the fram 8037 as it was $20 rather then $55 from napa. runs great down the road. Im really liking the sound of her now but shes a little rough starting and im attributing that to what was apparently the air flow sensor in the stock air box not reading what its accustomed to or wanting to. Should i splice in some longer wires so i can tap it into the 4" pipe i put in line? Also with the stock vacuum gauge, while its probably not needed i'd like to get it in line as well. Does anyone know what diameter hole i should drill to insert that grommet into?

TIA

I am not sure of the filter you used but as long as it flows enough I wouldn't think that it is related to your hard starts. I Have the 6637 on mine, without the sensors and no problems but it is a 2000... Is it cold where you are? If it happened right after the filter install then maybe related, if it just happened lately cause its cold I would start with glow plugs.

There's an air flow sensor on OBSs?
If it's like a SD, there is an IAT sensor, but that's it.

Yeah it started as soon as i made the change. Truck was plugged in over night (needs plugs...maybe next week lol) and at operating temps, stopped at autozone and got the filter, went to ACE and got some PVC pipe and some 4" to 3" rubber reducers, popped the hood in the parking lot and ten minutes later had the OEM airbox out and the BHAF in. Turned it over and it took a few extra cranks to get her going and she sorta lopped for a second and then everything was AOK. Like I said, shes great down the road but that hard start is kinda annoying. I was doing a lot of errands today so she was off and on a lot and every time was like that???

I would try and put it back to stock just to see if it is filter related. then go from there

Mine does the same if I don't use power service additive I think mine is to do with injectors and plus diesel fuel sucks anymore around here seems like it don't get the power out of it any more like cheap gas hahaha
