According to people I've talked to they said it drops easily 3-5 points. It is a combination of things however idle times/startup energy, etc. I was shocked at my first fill up of getting 12mpgs, I hope it returns in summer to about 15-16 or so.

I suspect it affects psds more because of the injector setup but that is just a guess. I don't really hear dodge guys complaining all that much about winter fuel they are getting about 15 or so even with winter fuel. I was tempted to look at the mpg gauge on my bosses 05 cummins just to see what he was getting but I didn't.

Yep, mine was just as bad as his. It isn't the tanks I would worry about but the big tanks at fuel stations. Those things are full of crap and the filters on the pumps don't do that great of a job...

So pulled that apart just now. Pretty simple. glad I didnt drain the bowl.....the screen was pretty well stuck to the fpr and rather then fight it or ef it up i just blasted it with brake cleaner...she was pretty gunked up. Going to take her for a spin down to the barn now and see what it see....god i hope i just squeaked a couple mpg's by doing that....

edit: Just took her out for a spin down to the barn and she pretty much feels like a entirely new rig. The throttle response is much better and im sure i just bought myself a couple MPG's just by the feel of it. Sweet

Nice I've pmed a couple of mods and also used the report feature but thus far I haven't seen it added to any tech article. Its really too bad as I had this thread and several other links/books I wanted added. Oh well I guess just keep this thread going.

F5TZ-9A214-A should be what you need.

Also guys it would help out for some proof if you could post mpg numbers before an after. I went from 12.some to 13.48 ( I also had my hubs unlocked second time, and then aired up my tires.) I idled a hell of a lot more second time though.
