pedal play?

i have a 96 f350 cc lb with 218,000. lately ive had to press the accelerator pedal a long way before anything happens. truck starts/idles fine, doesnt seem to be getting wide open throttle though. this problem has slowly gotten worse. it makes it a pain to back up trailer, seems to be less off idle control. any ideas what the cause would be? thanks in advance

Could be the throttle position sensor.

I agree thats probably your problem or wear in pedal hinge

Or the idle switch on the pedal, not clicking on until you've had to push the pedal further.
