AE scanner HELP needed that not to be found in the manual
Truck: 1995 7.3L PST
If I launch the AE at default setting (automatically connect at launch, vehicle interface type: auto detect), it will connect to the PCM using J1850PWM. In this case, it will scan and get all the PSD sensors, let me do live data meter, graphing and test onboard system. However, it will not retrieve any codes even I know that there are codes. In the middle of such session, I can disconnect, change the communication configuration to (unchecked box at “automatically connect at launch”, vehicle interface type: KWP2000) and reconnect. It will connect as KWP2000 and retrieve the codes. However, If I close the AE and re-launch it, it will revert to the default setting. The big question is: How to permanently change it to (unchecked box at “automatically connect at launch”, vehicle interface type: KWP2000)? It’s very annoying when I’m at my desk and trying to play back my recordings. It will just keep trying to connect when I launch the AE. |

AE Settings
Launch AE, while it is trying to detect your vehicle press F4 on your keyboard.
Uncheck the box that says "Automatically Connect on Launch" in the Computer interface section. then click the "OK" box. Close or Exit the program and that should work. But you will have to manually connect under the vehicle tab when you want to use the scan tool for diagnosing.
