1997 Ford F350 problem/potential buy???
There is a 1997 F350 crew cab PSD for sale in my area but it has a problem was wondering if you guys could read the ad and see if this sounds like a big expensive problem or something relatively easy and dare I say cheap?

Sounds like a UVCH wiring issue. Shouldn't be too hard to diagnose. Replacement wiring and/or valve cover could be had for less than $100 used. A scanner that can do buzz and cylinder contribution tests would be more illuminating. The cam sensor reference in the ad is, of course, mistaken.
'Course, it could be anything. Could be bad injectors on that whole bank, or an IDM issue. Stlll, a 4x4 CCLB in good shape can go for $6000-10000, depending on provenance and condition. Is it a 5-speed? Wait -- hard to tell from the pic, and it's typical "bonehead craigslist" posting style to omit the most obvious major items that define the truck - tranny type and whether it's 4x4. That shouldn't be an expensive fix if you know how to do it yourself. X3 on the UVC Harness.
