Tranny OD light always on

The OD light on my friends truck is always lit and it won't toggle on or off. The transmission shifts fine but will never go into OD. He took it to a tranny shop and they checked the wiring from the column to the ECM and the ECM is receiving a signal when the button is toggled. The tranny is not setting any codes. He is pretty sure that the TQ is engaging. Any ideas? Could this be an ECM problem?

OD solenoid in the solenoid pack is bad...

Thanks man. Is the solenoid pack located on the side of the tranny? What does changing out the solenoid entail? Haven't had and won't have any time to look at it until the weekend. Figured Id ask around first.

Inside the pan... Unplug harness, drop the pan, unbolt (think they are 10mm bolts). Reinstall new in reverse.

So I looked around for a new solenoid pack....stealership wants $400+ for one and I have found a few online for $200-250. Anyone have a better price, quality vendor, or if you know someone who can get a new one, I'll give them the business.
