Mercon LV in a E4OD??

well im putting a BTS VB in my tranny soon and i can get a wicked deal on ford specific mercon LV fluid an i was wondering if that fluid will work? i already have 9L of this fluid sitting at home so wouldnt have to buy much more when i change the fluid. Ive read that its a newer version of the normal mercon V.

That is false, Mercon LV is designed to replace Mercon SP for the 5R110. The E4OD should run a Dex/Merc fluid or a Merc V (though some debate whether or not you should put Merc V in a 4EOD or 4R100, since the original owner's manual stated Mercon only...there is a million threads on that topic).

Bottom line, don't run that in your 4EOD.

ok thanks alot well i exchanged the 9 L of LV i had to normal mercon so ill be set, i was told this morning by a ford tranny tech that if i felt like changing my tranny asap then put that stuff in lol never gave me a reason just said exchange it for normal mercon.
