Ok I'm new to diesels and I will be purchasing my first 1 on Saturday it is a 1997 f250 auto sc lb 4x4. It has 184,000 on it interior is near mint everything works brand new tires new tanks glow plugs were replaced front end has been redone with all greasables has the typical wheel well rust but doors and cab have no rust at all. Has a cap and bedliner no leaks all maintanence has always been done on time. The retired gentleman drove it 5 miles to work everyday and weekend trips to west virginia. Is this truck worth 6500.00???????

IDK but I'd shoot for 5k. Good luck either way. Be sure to check the fluids, check the turbo. Make sure it shifts well.

I drove it yesterday and the only concern I had was when I was running 65 and took my foot off the gas the engine slowed quickly almost like it wasn't in od but I counted the gears and I was in od is this normal

It sounds normal, the torque converter on mine feels similar to what you describe, it stays locked until 40 or below, then unlocks. After it unlocks it seems to cruise better. But your tranny in the OBS a E4OD, mines a 4R100.

I have 4.10's and mine does this. Could simply be a matter of high RPM. I think at 65 I'm running over 2000RPM
