Trans swap?

Will a trans from a '95 work in a '97, same chassis? My '95 is trashed($1k+ to fix the frame) but someone is selling a '97 that just needs a trans and electrical work, trying to get a feeling if its worth it. Thanks

If it's the same motor than yes, check to make sure they are both e4od, pretty sure it wouldn't be a 4r100, but crawl under to make sure, either way it will swap down to the e4od, just can't swap up to the later motor, good luck

Trans will swap if they are both 7.3's. There are a few differences, your 95 may have the older style HPOP depending on when it was made and the 97 will have different injectors and PCM if it's a CA truck. Otherwise it's just whatever trim options that you may have to swap.
