What Keyless Entry is This?

Howdy Yall,
I am completely sick of the keyless entry on my truck. It looks like a factory or dealer option but I can't find any information on it. It only works about half the time, the other half I have to open the door manually and press the hidden button and all that to disable it. I would just stop setting it but it disables the ignition after 30-60 seconds. Does anyone have any idea what this system is and how I go about removing or disabling it? I would like to have it disabled or removed completely so I can go with a full-fledged alarm system. Thanks!

Well it's certainly not factory installed RKE, might be dealer installed but I've never seen anything like it.

That is aftermarket and i've never seen that type of remote before. Whats the numbers on the back?

That is a dealer installed system. Made by Code Alarm for Ford. I have one sitting here in a box after it didn't do what I wanted on the OBS.

Hey thanks Bill! Now that you mention it, Code Alarm rings a bell. Any idea how to fix, remove, or at least disable it?

I'd say follow the wiring and see where the module (brain) is, then just cut and cap off the wiring.

Thanks Bill! That's exactly what it is. I haven't dived too deep into the install manual but I found the box called "Ford Security Controller" or something like that zip-tied to some wiring near the kick panel. I unplugged all 4 harnesses and jumped 3 wires to re-enable my power locks and disable the starter lockout. As far as I know I'm back to stock.

That's just temporary however. I'm going to get a nice new alarm system (maybe remote start) installed. Will leaving that old one in mess them up or should I do my best to remove it? Thanks!

It won't hurt it if it remained there, taped off. Personally, I'd remove it, or have the new system's installer clear it out for you. Nothing worse than a rat nest under the dash.

Mine came with a remote start/alarm. I'm about ready to rip it out and just go to the factory FOB thingy....
