97 F-250 HD

hey i'm a little new to this forum but i have searched and i was wondering if any f-250 HD came stock from the factory with a solid front axel. i've found a few around and nobody can tell me if it was stock or not. mostly the reaon being is i've found a 97 F-250HD powerstroke with 127000 miles on it and it has a solid front end. any input would be greatly apreciated.

Welcome

I have never seen that factory installed and was not an option from the factory to my knowledge on 90's vintage.

It was probably swapped to a solid axle. I did it to mine (97 F250HD) and its a bolt in basically.

Maybe you could post some pictures of the axle so we could see what it looks like.

I would say it was NEVER a factory option, but stranger things have happened. There were photos floating around a few years back of an Ebay ad for an F350 that was custom ordered from Ford with TTB.
Chances are someone has swapped the axle in at some point, its a common mod on the F250.

Not factory. At some point someone swapped in the Dana 60. There where after market companies that did the swap new for plow trucks as well as the 4x4 f-350 dually conversion.
