97 F-250 HD
hey i'm a little new to this forum but i have searched and i was wondering if any f-250 HD came stock from the factory with a solid front axel. i've found a few around and nobody can tell me if it was stock or not. mostly the reaon being is i've found a 97 F-250HD powerstroke with 127000 miles on it and it has a solid front end. any input would be greatly apreciated.

Welcome
I have never seen that factory installed and was not an option from the factory to my knowledge on 90's vintage. It was probably swapped to a solid axle. I did it to mine (97 F250HD) and its a bolt in basically. Maybe you could post some pictures of the axle so we could see what it looks like.

I would say it was NEVER a factory option, but stranger things have happened. There were photos floating around a few years back of an Ebay ad for an F350 that was custom ordered from Ford with TTB.
Chances are someone has swapped the axle in at some point, its a common mod on the F250. |

Not factory. At some point someone swapped in the Dana 60. There where after market companies that did the swap new for plow trucks as well as the 4x4 f-350 dually conversion.

not a factory option, kind of how a/c in the 50's was a dealer option
