Gagues and Instrument panel
If this has been brought up I'm sorry, but I am really confuse on which gauges I would need for my truck. Its a 1997 F250 Supercab 7.3 Right now its stock and will be for sometime, but I will be using it for towing horses, and other things, so I will be putting a chip on it, and as I have read that before you do that, I will want to put some gauges in it. Which ones do I pick and how many (boost, oil, transmission tempt
![]() , or whats the best combination to have for gauges) My second question is I do not like the stock instrument panel looks. Plain white and only goes to 80. Does anyone know if they make a kit where it changes the face of it, and one that goes past 80mph? And I would like to change the color of the glow to blue or green as well. Thank you for your help

you need AT LEAST tranny temp and pyrometer (EGT) then also a boost gauge. those are the big three. most sites run a deal with all three and wiring setup, etc

Do you have an auto, or a manual?
If auto you'll want at least- EGT (pyro) and trans temp. If manual you'll want at least an EGT gauge. Most people like to have a boost gauge as well, not necessary but definitely handy. I also think that a fuel pressure gauge is a good one to have. As for your instrument cluster, stock for these trucks is black face, you must have an aftermarket overlay already. You might be able to remove it and be back to stock. For a speedo that goes past 80 you'll have to find a cluster from a Lightning, they go to 120 IIRC. You'll have to take the cluster apart and swap the speedo into your truck, and be aware that the mileage from the donor truck will be displayed on your truck. ![]() also look at gettign rid of that flat DP if you still have it and the DIY 6637 for your next two mods. if you DIY, your looking at about $150 - $200 for the two |

i have a 4 guage pod in mine, complete performance runs a deal if you get there pod for 4 gauges and get there pod, also painted mine to match factory interior color (grey) and i chose pyro, boost, trans, and hpop to monitor, if you dont want that many im also gonna say pyro and trans if you have automatic, and only cluster that fits in our trucks is 93-95 lighting goes to 120, but it still wont display the correct speed iirc unless you have it flashed to do so. and even still how fast are you going anyway? you could also creat your own cluster and do a whole in dash thing buy ordering all the gauges you want and wire them in
