Check engine light!!!

Hey guys, Question for you I have a '96 stroker that is running rough as heck. I started it runs great for about 1/2 a second. That's when the engine light comes on and the shaking begins. very low throttle response and absolutely zero power. right now she would pull a sick ***** off a p'ss pot. Put an obd2 reader on it and it shows no codes. put my superchips programmer on it and it shows no codes. Light only comes on when truck is trying to run. I haven't checked anything yet cause I don't know where to start. I thought maybe fuel filter. But why the check engine light? My kid brother has been running the thing on like 1/8 tank of fuel and I told him it prolly sucked up some trash in the tank. But again, why the check engine light. The light don't show when the key is on, only when it is running or trying to run... Any thought?

OK, now it has new fuel filter and no change...WTF??

Sounds like low oil pressure to injectors check oil and check to see if theres oil in the ICP connector, its the sensor on the front of the drivers side head. Pull the connector off and see if theres oil in it. signs of a bad ICP

Hey thanks for the info. I put some injector cleaner in and ran it a while, turns out it's trash in the fuel that got past the fuel filter. In the process of cleaning the tanks and fuel lines.
