Blackwater Diesel Alert
Buddy of mine ordered a reman from them, he specified the year and vin of his truck and got a motor that didnt have a cam lobe for the mechanical fuel pump. At this point they are telling him that a "good mechanic" would have noticed the missing lobe. Which we all know is BS, just being weasels. He is still trying to get it worked out. Just wanted to throw out a heads up about this company's customer service.
I will update this thread according to what is done by Blackwater to correct this problem. Last edited by ridiculously_necessary; 05-17-2011 at 06:50 AM. |

Update
They have agreed to pay parts and labor to correct the situation, after a heated discussion. |

hhhm, while i am in agreement that yallz shoulda found the deficiency before the install, i am leaning more towards they shoulda caught the before it got sent out the door.
so what are they going to pay for? the new fuel system you guys had to fab up and some cash for labor? i dont figure hes gonna see half of what you put into it |

they are paying parts and labor for an electric install.
while the guy could have looked fo the cam lobe, why would you? they got the correct injector harness installed, and that would be almost obvious as to what motor they received. the supplied motor should haev been assembled properly to begin with. i wouldnt think to check the cam lobe anymore than i would think to check and see if it had new pistons. jmho. |

It's a two way thing sometimes but the important thing is that they agreed to resolve it rather than just say 'deal with it'.
