Auto to 6-Speed

Just thinking out loud. How hard would it be to convert my E40D Auto to a newer 6-Speed manual? I realize I would need clutch pedal/hydraulics and a different transfer case. Wondering if it is doablefor under $6000 total. The only reason I would do this rather than just get a 5-speed truck is that my 1996 only has 56k on it and is in real good shape.
