Is there a way to see if my '97 F-250HD had keyless entry from the factory?

It has every other option available (power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, power driver seat, power lumbar in both seats, captain chairs). I got no key fob when I bought it.

Look under the dash by the gas pedal/door dinger/power point area. If you have keyless entry, you should see a module that looks like this with a white label on it:

Now my question is how do I program a remote?

This is from the service manual. I've done it and know it works.

Programming procedure:
The module erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitters from memory when the remotes are programmed. The module can store up to four remotes in memory.

Turn ignition switch to RUN position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector (a two-pin connector taped to the wire assembly with gray/yellow and white/yellow wires). All doors should lock then unlock. Remove shorting pin.

Press any button on each remote. All doors should lock then unlock, to verify that the remote has been programmed.
NOTE: If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same remote).
Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock then unlock.
Test operation of remotes

If I don't have this RKE module, how hard is to install? My truck is an XLT with most power options but I don't see that module.

OBS keyless entry (RKE) retrofit.

Thanks guys. Just used this thread to reprogrammer on my new (to me anyway) 97 F250 PSD. Worked like a charm.
