Project Farm Truck to Shiny Example of an OBS... Let the fun begin.

Picked this up last november on ebay: 96 7.3L 4x4 F350, 190,000 miles, $4500, the truck I've always wanted and now its mine.... I RULE

OK, for real now.. the end plan is a 4.5" RSK lift, 37" Wrangler Baja Military tires on custom double beadlock wheels, road armor bumpers and the same dark green paint thats on it with a nice bronze/gold stripe reminiscent of the king ranch paint. Of course the normal bolt ons, stainless exhaust, 7.3L innercooler and a trip to my tuner and if i can find it for the right price some king ranch leather

no not a dd, the original purpose for the truck was to pull my boat (18ft yamaha jetboat) and to drive in the winter when there is ice and snow on the ground. so it will get driven close to every weekend in the summer and when i don't feel like breaking the camaro out in the cold. i know the beadlocks and 37's are going to murder mpg's, so i have already started to consider converting to a veggiestroke or possibly burning a % of wmo, depends on witch one of my connections comes through.

Wow, someone was hard on that truck..

But, most guys will tell you to shy away from any type of military tire. Especially if these are the ones they run on the Humvee's

i dont know why people are soo scared of using a military tire. the 16.5" rim fear has no factor as i will be using a double beadlocked rim. they are cheap, easy to find and the new goodyear baja is a great tire! i have personally driven up-armoured hmmwv's with these tires and have never had a problem.

If anyone can give me a realworld no crap reason as to why these tires are "unsafe" or not worth using i would love to know about it
