Diesel Leak
Can anyone tell what the round part is called that is part of the fuel supply system that has an electric connection to it and it screws into the injection system on that sits on top of the manifold. This round part is about 2 inches long and 3/4 around and it is dripping fuel at a good rate. can I change this myself. without screwing someting else up

throw a picture up...even if you have to copy and paste one from photo bucket.... sounds like the fuel pressure regulator....if it is, then a new one is needed...you may be able to JB weld it to get buy for now.

Re reading the orginal.....may just be the Vaccum switch for the fuel filter light...if the housing is not busted, then you can replace it with a 1/4" plug from lowes, instead of shelling out alot of $$$ for a replacement

I highly advise against plugging the Fuel filter restriction sensor, replace it. About 25 bucks from Bob's if I remember right. The PO of my truck unplugged it for whatever reason.....and I ended up with a mess in my Fuel bowl. You may just need to pull it out and Teflon tape it. If it were me, I'd pull the fuel bowl, replace the sensor, and replace all the o-rings in the Fuel bowl. It's easy, and the kit is like 14 bucks.
The fuel pressure sensor is known to leak in the sensor itself. Replace it, that restriction light may save your azz one day. but if plugging it was you may want, its a 1/8 NPT plug that youll need |
