96 350 what should fuel mileage be?

Hey I am new to this forum, and have been looking around quite a bit and finding that it looks like others are getting WAY better fuel mileage than I am.

Heres the truck
96 F-350 crew cab dually
7.3 w e40D tranny
banks turbo kit with intercooler w gauges
3" exhaust

I am only getting about 13.5 highway
anything anybody know I can do to help that out???

i have a 96er also, an F250 w/ an auto 4x4. i am getting 17 - 17.5 mpg on the highway myself. my first guess is that since you have a dually, that part isn't helping. do you have an aftermarket programing? or is it just the banks turbo/intercooler combo?

no programming just the turbo kit.

intake and larger exhaust would help but programming will make a big difference as well

how much of a difference do you think it would make? 1 mpg?? or like 5?

well, I had an edge evolution on mine and was gettin mid 17s highway, this fall I put a DP Tuner and MBRP 4" exhaust on and was mid 18s in december doin 70+ mph...but I have a intake done as well...as for now my mpg is way down as i have been doin all town driving with a mix of 4 wheel drive due to snow...

Figure out what is wrong with the truck in stock form before you throw performance parts at it. You should be getting better than 13 highway.

With the truck in my signature I am only getting 16.7 highway. I think I should be getting better than that also.

just replaced the fuel filter, it was really dirty. I will see if that helps, what else do you all suggest i try?

96 F350 CCLB 4x4 SRW, CA emissions model (AB split shot injectors), auto, 285/75/16 rubber, DIY intake and stock exhaust and this time of year I'm 13-14 usually. It was closer to 15-16 in the summer.
