e4od rebuild or new?

im lookin at a 7.3 i can get dirt cheap, but the e4od slips sometimes, it could be the valve body, it could be electrical i dont know. either way, i might buy this truck and just want to know what i could be expecting to pay for a rebuild. i heard around 1100, but i can get a new tranny brand new in box for about 1500. anyways, let me know cause if its in that range. im buyin this thing.

average does seem to be 1100.

most people rebuild, and get a better TQC (precision industries, etc), upgraded VB, and a larger cooler.

1500 seems nice for a new, is it 2wd?

My local tranny shop is 1800 that for them to remove, rebuild with new TC and reinstall.

My truck is a 95 stock cc with a cold air intake. I plan on giving the truck a little extra pop. Should I put some better stuff in the tranny or just have it rebuilt stock? I'd like to add a D66 turbo, 5 inch stacks, stage 2 injectors, and a new hpop. So id like to plan ahead with the tranny rebuild.

Racer, if yuor adding that upgrade the tranny without question. look into a BTS tranny, or at least TQC, VB, clutches and cooler.
