max EGTs

forgive me, i did a few searches and since "EGT" is in about a million threads, i got sick of scrolling.
I just purchased a nice 97 Crew Cab PSD
This is my first Powerstroke but not my first diesel. I was able to run my Cummins up to 1250* all day long and hit bursts of 1500-1600* for short periods. (obviously pre-turbo).

what kinds of numbers do you guys look for on the 7.3?

the truck is stock except for a 5 inch exhaust and big free-air filter
boost seems to be 19-21 PSI at the most. I live at about 5000 feet alt.

boost sounds about right for elevation, and btw 1250 is definitely good to go for a 7.3 and yeah bursts as said, honestly i've never seen anything over 1100 on mine and i want to keep it that way, but ya better safe then sorry.

I think my up pipes are leaking. I only get like 7 pounds of boost without a load on it. As for EGT's mine get up to 1200 pulling like 12,000 pounds.
