FPR mod
I just found out about the FPR mod. Just wondering if they are any pros or cons. Also would it be harmful? I found this link but im not sure what would be better, the spring or BB. Thanks for any input. Ford Powerstroke Fuel Pressure Regulator Spring 7.3 FPR - eBay (item 300526839895 end time Feb-25-11 14:34:59 PST)

Well the link you posted shows that he has sold 2 of those springs.
I bought one, did you get the other? ![]() I've got a fuel leak and will be opening up my whole fuel system and figured for the price of the spring, why not try it. I bought it tonight (before finding this thread) and once I get it in I'll tell you what I think. |

no i didnt get the other one. I figured I would see if anyone else tried it. Im tryin to keep the truck running awesome but with being in college its going to really suck if the truck goes down. Im just figuring if its not going to help much then I wont do it.

It smoothes out the idle if your old spring is weak also you could do an idm mod and its not hard to do i did mine myself and that helped with the throttle response and with the idle to

well sitting still at idle it seems like it has a lil surge or is a little rough. I mean its not bad. mayb it will help

My truck has dropped codes for low fuel pressure, and I can't cruise at 45mph (it chuggs and acts like it's out of fuel) so I either go 60 or more, or 40 and less. Just keep my eyes pealed for the blue lights, LOL
I'm also replacing the fuel pump and putting all new o-rings on the whole system. I probably won't be able to vouch for any difference since I'm doing all this at the same time. But I'll tell what I can tell once it's all done and over with. |

well im not pulling any codes. but it does seems like is chuggs at low speeds. so yea i go fast too

I didn't have any codes at 1st either.
My truck has been getting progressively worse, I like to wait till it's bad enough that I know EXACTLY what the problem is, ![]() The fuel leak was my last straw, I can't have drips. Drips drive me nuts. One of the big reasons for holding off on this problem was that I am saving up for a totally new duel electric fuel pump regulated return system ![]() And I didn't want to waste money bandaging my truck. Oh well, my truck is a daily driver and a my work truck at that! So I need it to be good to go. |

it shouldnt cause any harm.
Aaron, im nearly done with my dual electric, all that is left is to delete the fuel bowl and remove the pump! With any luck ill be done tomorrow night, but probably more realistically this weekend. |
