Does anyone know what this is?

Does anyone know what the little thing with the two coiled wires going to and coming from it in the pic is? I changed my batteries a couple of months ago and found the eye connector was rotted off with the wire just hanging. I wasn't sure if it was a ground or a hot wire so I didn't hook it up. Everything seems to work on the truck so I don't have any idea what it's for. I'm wondering if it might ge something that is aftermarket that was added before I owned the truck. I just learned, to blow up the pic, click on it and a bigger pic will come up.

Thanks!

Not factory, that is a circuit breaker. Maybe for some driving lights or something? have to trace the wires to see where they go.

Def not stock. If you have a brake controller under your dash it could be for that. Follow the wires.

I think that's exactly what it is for. After Gruss said it's not factory, it got me to thinking what it could be for. If I remember correctly, I think I remember this truck having a trailer brake controller. This is a company truck I purchased 4 years ago but, it's been in the company ever since I started 11 years ago.

Thanks!

There is no controller in the truck anymore but I bet I can find the wire cut under the dash.

My first thought was extra lights. D.c. it and see what quits working. Then let us know.
