A little help for the new guy
Hello everyone, new to the forum and enjoy reading all of the threads. I just got my first Ford Powerstroke, and first Diesel truck for that matter. I'm just looking for a little confirmation that everything is doing what it should. the truck is a 99 with a re-manufactured 7.3 (20k ago) and a brand new tranny. I've installed autometer gauges, DP F5 with 60 econo, 60hp tow, decel, and 100 hp tunes, K&N drop in and a leveling kit. Out side of that it's a stock CC LB 4x4. (rims and tires for now).
Here is my question, do these parameters look normal to you experts?
Conditions, 70mph, flat highway, 65 degrees outside.
Boost 4psi
Trans temp 150 degrees
EGR temp about 600 degrees
All in dash gauges are running in the middle and I'm getting 20mpg.
I'm guessing that this all looks good but the 4psi boost is suprizing, I figured it would be closer to 10. At WOT I only develop about 13 psi of boost, does that sound normal?
Also is there an EGR temp that I want to stay underneith? I good around with the 100hp tune a little and back out when I see the temp get close to 1300.
Any comments are much appreciated.
