changing glow plugs and injectors tomarow ????
I'm changing my glow plugs and injectors tomarrow. Installing stage 1s. ive got the basic understanding of the job but does anyone have a pic of the bolt i need to remove for the injector to come out. Also are there any tricks.
From what ive read all the 7.3 r pretty much the same. Mine is a 97 standard tranny with single shot injectors. |

the injectors come out pretty easy, if you pull the bottom bolt out of the injector retaining clip and loosen the top on the whole clip will slide up and you can pry the injector out...if you need a picture i have a parts motor sitting at home w/o the injectors in i can snap pics of, the wiring and valve covers seem to come off fairly easily but as far as the glow plugs i'm not sure, i'm sure someone else will chime in

6-8 hrs a good trick for the glowplugs is to break them with a ratchet then use a short rubber hose pushed on the GP and use that to twist the GP out . Install is the reverse use the hose to install and the socket to torque it down.
good luck |

Thanks for the ingfo finished last night. still putting the drivers side accesories back together today. I got stoped due to the intake hose between the turbo and the hard piece that mounts to the valve cover.
