Sony CD deck problem
Ive got a new sony deck in my 96, had it for a year, and have never gotten enough bass out of it.
It cannot hold a candle to my previous pioneer or my stock deck. I have Alpine and Infinity speakers. The guy at the sound shop said that I wired it wrong and that some fords had mixed up wiring. Talk about blowing off a customer. Anybody else have a problem like this? |

Confirm that your speaker wiring is correct. If the wire from a speaker is connected to 2 different channels it would cause problems. If the wiring is okay, the stereo shop guy is a dick.

I have done alot of stereo work on these and never had any problem with wires messed up. Does your deck have built in crossovers or high pass or low pass setting. This could cause your bass problems. Best thing if not already done is run a single 10 or 12 for bass needs. Most your 2-3 way speakers wouldn't do what you want for bass....Chris

Thanks guys,
I'll check my wires tomorrow, but i am using the same adapter as with my previous pioneer. The deck does have hi pass filters and sub out controls but they are turned off. I do not see a reason, nor do I want to buy a sub and amp when my factory deck blows this thing out of the water with bass. Everyone raves about these sony decks but wont say much when there are problems. I wont buy another Sony car stereo product again. |
