Buying a 95 F250 with some problems, need help

Im looking at this 95 F250 thats overall real clean for a good price, with around 300k miles on it, these are some issues as well as questions I have:

1. If the truck is in 4lo, will the transmission shift into OD (4th gear) I test drove the truck and it was in 4LO since the rod lever is broken and the only way to take it out of 4LO is to crawl under truck and manually change it, it got up to speed in 3rd gear and that was it, it wouldn't up shift to 4th gear, is that normal?

2. The truck has a SERIOUS bog issue. The seller says the injector is bad and the truck is running on 7 cyl, here are the symptoms: The truck has a rough idle and if you punch it the CHECK ENGINE will flash and the truck wont even move but if you slowly take off and give it gas, the CHECK ENGINE will NOT flash and the truck will take off normally with NO hesitation, when driving on the road at about 30, the motor definitely shakes with a rough idle which the seller is saying that the injector is bad, any ideas?

Other than those 2 issue, everything is OK, the transmission thing not going into 4th scares me but if its in 4LO than should it even go into 4th?

so it sounds like an OIL PUMP? Isnt that a huge job? Doesnt the whole motor need to come apart or is this an easy job?

its not as easy as an oil change but the pump is on top of the motor so its not all that bad

id get those codes read by a computer first. that will tell you more about the problem

Yup. Pulling those codes should save you time, aggravation and money, even if you buy a reader or a scanner (eventually...).
