Rear Fuel Tank ?'s

Gas Tank, 33 Gallon Plastic 90-96

Last week I had a subcontractor’s work truck jump out of gear, roll down the hill, and collide with mine pushing it into the double wide job trailer we are working out of. There was not much damage done to my truck but it will go visit the body shop for minor stuff – thanks to the ranch hand bumpers. Can’t say the same for the exterior wall of the trailer – it pretty much caved in the entire side.

While my truck visits the body shop for rear end work I thought of getting the rear fuel tank replaced with the larger 33 gallon bronco tank. I found the Poly tank on the attached link – is that what I should go with?

I plan on buying everything and taking it to the body shop and giving them all the parts to do the install for me. What else do I need or should look at for this mod?

I did a search without finding a lot – thanks for any info.

38 Gal. Steel Tank,Pick-Up

The sending units are not interchangeable? What would I need to do to the existing one? Are there any disadvantages to going with the poly tank vs the steel one? I noticed that the 38 gallon steel tank is $375 and the poly is only $145. I’m not sure the extra 5 gallons is worth $230.

Just making sure I don’t buy something that won’t work – thanks for the help.

you can use your sending unit but you would have to extend the pick up tube to meet the tank depth along with the gauge bouy
