White smoke?

Just picked up a 96 f-350 dually pretty stock only known mod is fuel reg. shim (aka BB behind spring) I notice that when free rev'd the engine revs farely good till about 2k to 2300 then it kinda chokes up a bit and will rev kinda sluggish past that (kinda thought that it was due to the stock crap down pipe??) but then will blow some white smoke clears up as soon as you let out of it. any ideas?? and help is greatly appreciated!

if you compression is good...

then start with the smple stuff. BB mod should be fine for you, but if your goign to mod anyway, do all the simple stuff first. DP, Intake, maintenance, etc. but as i said, be sure your compression is good. get your cct and injectors buzzed. could also be just soem injector o-rings too.

They are bigger but you would need to reprogram your PCM and get a better HPOP to run them. its really not worth it

Im only arguing the worth because I could probably get most of the stuff for free minus the PCM tune which I want a chip anyway so??? If I could get the superduty HPOP and a set of injectors for free the have a custom tune made..... Still not worth doing? Thanks for all your help!
