Heater not working

They told me there was one temp thermostat for my pickup so that is the one that I put in. Driving down the road the temp gauge is on the O in normal. New thermostat helped some, at least I can take my jacket off, but its not that cold here yet. Do i just cover the radiator or is there something else I need to check, maybe a valve somewhere I haven't seen.

Both heater hoses were hot , but flushed the core and still nothing. Looked at the blending door cable. When I first got it knob turned hard to heater side. Guess I jumped some teeth on the gears on the switch. Moved it back a couple teeth and it gets hot now. Thanks for the help.
