transmission conversion

Hi all I have a 96 powerstroke with an automatic and I am going to swap it to a manual tranny. I have a S5-42zf tranny with the flywheel and clutch from a 94 with a 460 and I was wondering if it will work on my 96.

I personally dont think it will bolt up,two totally different engines......... id love to do a manual to auto swap myself.Why do you want to swap to a manual?

I dont like automatics for pulling heavy loads in the hills. I know the tranny will work but not sure if the flywheel will work.

I know a few guys that have put gasser trannys behind IDI's and you have to redrill a hole in the bellhousing to make it work, IIRC the bolt pattern is the same for IDI's and PSD's. Hope this helps.
