About to buy a 95 350 PSD, got a few questions
4x4 with a regular cab and only 100K miles. I have been trying to look at potential problems, I've read about the auto transmission, but everything else looks good and the body is in great shape.
I just want to know as much as I can prior to buying this, and if I take it to a shop what specifically I should have the guys look at. For the price I think I'm getting a pretty good deal but any advice is much appreciated. Thanks Last edited by sfzobie; 09-28-2010 at 07:51 AM. |

transmission is the weak link....
Check in the engine valley for any oil/fuel. Fuel pump/fittings leaking. Pull the intake boot off of the turbo, look at the impeller...worn, blades nicked, see if theres any really noticable shaft play (move it up/down, side to side). Are teh fuel lines from the pump to the bowl showing alot of wear/frayed/split. Pull the fuel filter out and look at it/ the fuel in the bowl...trash in the boel etc. If the trucks been maintained correctly, it'll last forever. |
