How much can my tranny handle?

I've been thinking about throwin' some more power into the old stroker lately (see sig). I've got tons of ideas in my head, but one thing that is always in the back of my mind if the tranny. I don't want to kill it, but I don't have the money to have it pulled and built up right now...

The tranny was a brand new unit from ford that now has about 23k on it. It's got a shift kit in it as well (I can't confirm this, but its got some pretty damn firm/quick shifts, and I've heard stock E4's are kind of slow and slushy shifting). It seems to wind out more than the typical E4 before shifting too.

I was looking for a rough hp/tq rating, and was hoping the pros could give me a guestimate!

good question. general consensus is to add cooling as heat kills these things. if i had to shoot from the hip id say 100hp ish, but probably less if your under a load. hopefulyl someone else will chime in.
