too much boost?

SO i just did a DIY intake the other day and a straight pipe, and my truck is finally able to take advantage of the 80hp chip that is in it. I pulled up to a light yesterday and there was a jackbag sittin there in a dodge, and a soon as I pulled up he started to spool up, so when in rome....... well any how we launched and things were going well but at about 70mph and about 2100rpms I could here my intake sucking air and it sounded it was starting to sputter..... was I making to much boost and things shutting down? i backed out of it a hair and it cleared up... needless to say I got killed. haha
