odometer question

Hi.. so little confused by what happened to my truck and my buddies truck. mine is a 94 and his is a 97. we both just hit 400000 k on are truck but both rest to 300000 ummmm.....????? weird!! is this normal?? or is there a problem. just wondering why this happens. you would think that the odometer being digital it should have no problem going past 400000k. thanks once again guys for any tips

I have heard that the speedo can only go so high, and once it reaches that number it goes backward like you described. At only 400k kilometers though it seems kind of early for it to be resetting...
