Factory Trailer Brake Controller
What does the factory trailer brake controller in the OBS look like? Is it a separate unit like an aftermarket one? I ask because I have the ford 7-pin trailer connector at the back that mentions trailer brakes but I have no visible unit above the tranny hump. Anyone know?

Below the ashtray is a 6-prong connector to connect an aftermarket brake controller. I don't think there was a factory controller.

Where would i get a controller that plugs into it?

![]() I'm using a Tekonsha Voyager. Basic, but it works with trailers up to 2 axles, the voyager XP does up to 4 axles. There are other brands and models. Prices are probably $50-500 ![]() Adapter harness which connects to factory under dash connector. Harnesses are about $15.00 Both the harness and controller should be available at a hitch installation shop or auto parts store. |

There never was a factory brake control offered in the OBS trucks, or the SD until 05 or 06.
I scored a brand new Tekonsha P3 off Craigslist for $50 and installed in my OBS. There are several places to buy brake controls online, including Ebay, or you can hit up an RV dealer or even some of the parts stores. |
