Best transmission

Hey my trans went out i guess a torque converter leak went from that when i took it to the trans shop to a bunch of broken parts inside which doesnt make sense because it was driving fine just the leak. Now they say they cant put it back togeather because of broken parts inside of tranny and that i have to get it rebuilt for 2 grand to get it back to a stock rebuilt. My question is it worth it to spend the extra 2 grand and buy the $4,000 trans for a truck i got for $5,000 or what should i do i have it chiped and downpipe and straight exhaust and thats as far as i plan on going..... Whats transmission should i get or just a stock rebuilt?

i would just do it now and get it over with.. the stock trans is the weakest part of this truck... you can get a built trans for about 3k ish... BTS or John woods is the way to go... that way its ready for when you do chip it and put all your mods
