Good Morning,
Need to purchase a used or possibly new CAT for my 1998 7.3 Powerstroke Ford Cutaway chassis. I would like to make this purchsse as soon as I can locate one. Our maintenance shop inadvertinly removed the original one. Needs to be legal in California. Please contact me with any advice of availability or where I might find one, by return post , email or phone call ( 9 - 9 pm PST ) Thanks Mark Tanner Sacramento, Ca 916-933-0605 x 11 mtanner@dscoach.com Last edited by mark5797; 09-04-2010 at 06:08 AM. Just removed mine yesterday out of my 95...not sure if that will work for you but if so, let me know so I don't take it to the metal scrapper to make a few bucks. It's really heavy so not sure if you want to pay for shipping on it either.

Hello Vinsil
Let me ask our shop - that removed the Cat - on Tuersday if the 95 will work. They should be the same. While I am doing that, to compute my cost for the shipping... what do you anticiopate the weight is, dimentions and what is the zip code where the part is located? Mark |

1998 Powerstroke?
Is this a E series or F series? F series doesnt have 98 Year |

It is a E 450
Specifically a E450 Passenger bus. Built on a E 450 Cutaway / motorhome chasssis. |

IIRC, thats the obs exhaust system. so a 95 should work fine then.
When I shipped off my 97 cat to someone up north, UPS charged me like $30-37 ground. |

I'm on my way out the door right now, but I'll have this info tonight for you. It's pretty heavy, but I think it would fit in a 24"x24"x24" box (maybe smaller, trying to go off memory) and it will be coming from 97352 zip. The truck has 179k on it, not sure if that makes a difference to you or not. |

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought the commercial trucks (E/F rated 450-up) didn't have cats till '03?

I definitly got declined for a required Opacity test in California for the Cat being missing. Not a smog test. BTW : I hear the new Calofnia "smog" test will be required for under 14K GVW My GVWR is 14050. My other two units with the excat same set up had no issue for their Opaity test as their cats were there. This is for a commercial bus built on a E 450.
