intercooler piping
I have a 6.0 intercooler that I want to put in my OBS truck, can I use stock 7.3 or 6.0 pipes for it or do I have to buy the kit from GTS or something? I'm not against "making" the stock pipes fit if need be, I'm just wondering if they're anywhere close to being able to be used.

you will have to work on the pipes a little to get them to work. Even with the gts kit you will have to do a little modding(I think) in order to get it to work with a 6 oh cooler. Good luck, I'm doing the same thing. I'll be using 7.3 pipes to start with and modding them to fit with the 6 oh cooler I have.

I put a 6oh cooler on my 96 with a GTS kit. Only thing i had to do is buy a 3-3.25" IC boot from Ford. Oh, I had to mod the mounts a little nothing major. Pipes fit fine.

You could look at the Banks pipes also, not sure if they sell 'em separately, though.

The reason I ask about the stock pipes is because I can pick them up for $30 compared to the 5-600 for the GTS kit. |

Tony1784-Yeah same reason here. Good luck with it.
LTFOX-I thought that with the gts kit it is designed to work best with the 7.3 cooler, and with the 6.0 being bigger it would stickout below the front bumper when mounted. With that in mind I wanted to mount mine up high enough that it didnt go below the bumper for a cleaner look, and in doing so I would have to cut up the gts kit to get it to work properly. Does you coler hang out? |

Yes, It does hang below the bumper. Here is a pic. not a real good one though. Never had trouble with it. If your 2wd you have to lower the sway bar for it to fit.
