Transmission Identification

I was just wondering if there is an easy way to tell what my tranny is. I've heard it's either a 370 or 410?? How do I know for sure?

Should be an E4OD. That was the only auto offered with the powerstroke to my knowledge.

OBS auto = E40d 7.3 SD auto =4r100 6.0 & 6.4 auto = torqshift

My bad didnt specify. only one offered for that body style

OBS 7.3 = E40D - up until 99 model year.
SD 7.3 = 4R100 - 99 model year until the last 7.3's in 2003.
Torqshift 6.0 = 5R110 - First 6.0's in 2003 until last 6.0's in 2007
Torqshift 6.4 = 5R110 - First 6.4's in 2008 - until present
