97 350 rear main

I was just looking for advice.I have a 97 ford 350 automatic and the local mechanic says that my rear main is leaking but to me it looks like its coming form the top aroung the valve cover. If it is the main seal how hard is that to fix? Can i do it myself? its not leaking to bad just a couple small spots everynight, but it still kinda worries me. Help

if you have oil in the valley or anywere up top for that matter.....it is NOT the rear main and dont let anyone tell you different......you always fix leaks from the top to the bottom.......especially when there is oil on the bellhousing.........trust me.....i would put a 12 pack on it hes wrong......Marc
